Tagged by CalTechGirl

I have been tagged for the other 5's meme by CalTechGirl. So here goes.....

5 things in my fridge....
- Cold cans of Extra Hot Rotel and various spicy sauces for the hubby. He eats rotel like salsa.
- Velvetta and rotel screaming out my name. My resistance will go down this evening, I am sure.
- Lemons for Oldest, she eats them like candy.
- Maple Syrup from the anti-In-Law's trip last fall.
- A mango to see if the girls like it. (They did, but I wish I had read this before I cut it up.)

5 things in my closet...
- 35% burnt orange clothing
- Christmas Decorations
- As you walk into the closet on the right is a wall space before the shelves start. It tended to collect junk, so I hung up two paintings. One of the view out my Grandparent's place in Arkansas. It is a snow scene with a blue tractor. Below that is a painting of my Dad holding me as a baby. Both were painted by my Aunt. I don't want to cover the pictures so I put stuff other places.
- Wrapping paper including the secret paper that only Santa Claus uses.
- A black cowboy hat that I wish my husband would wear more. (Hubba hubba)

5 items in my car....
I don't really have a car, WE have family cars.....
- Car seats that make the 4 door car really like a two seater
- A CD collection from Veggie Tales, Sam Cooke, Keith Urban, Queen, Meatloaf, Electric Light Orcestra and a few more.....
- A wide view mirror to see in the back seat. I really need one for both cars.
- Old parking tags for the Longhorn football games.
- A green stress ball (#2) that my husband uses when he drives. Heaven forbid he loses it!!!!

5 items in my purse....
- My makup since I put it on during the drive to work. Not when I am driving silly! My husband drives since we carpool.
- My digital camera
- I am testing out a bigger bag so I have all my paperwork, keys, change in a bank zip up bag. I usually carry a VERY small purse, but I found a burnt orange bag that is to die for!
- A mini bag with hair pick, mirror, lib balm, and fingernail clippers.
- A uncharged bluetooth headset for my blackberry. I never remember to keep it charged. Plus I feel like a geek wearing it. It is like the modern day pocket protector.

I am going to tag 5 people now and spread the silliness....

Sweet Dreams

My husband and I have slept on a waterbed that he brought to the marriage until about 9 months ago when it had a leak beyond repair. We have been married 11 years. For 9 months we slept on a blow up mattress, queen size. Do you remember that my husband is 6 foot 9? OK, so we he wanted to save up for a nice bed. OK, I can cope if he can cope. I tried not to make a big deal about it, but made a few comments here and there. Mostly joking, mostly not.

A few things have come into line and Saturday we bought a new mattress set.

OH MY.

I am in slumber bliss. This bed is firm yet has a soft pillow top. KING SIZE!!! And very high up. I have always wanted a bed you had to climb into. We have new sheets that are very good.

Right now I am in love with this bed. I realize the honeymoon may soon be over, but until then I look forward to bed time, I am working on my laptop on it, and using it every chance I get.

And I don't care if we spent to much on it. I don't care if my husband jabs back about the price and how it feels the same as the air mattress. Phewy on him. He is just being silly. How could he NOT love this bed?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

One more thing - the girls love the bed also. I was working earlier today and needed some quiet, but they just would not stay away. They wanted to run and jump UP on the bed and enjoy the softness. Weeeee!

Splashing Lesson

On Saturday we met some friends at Splash Station in Cleburne, TX. The park was small compared to others I have been to, but that was fine with us. A small slide for the little ones, two big ones for the big kids, diving boards, swimming pool, and my favorite - a lazy river. The girls were calling it crazy stream. And for $5 a person, you can't beat that!!!

I did learn a valuable lesson. Can you figure out what it is by looking at this picture of my shoulder? Answer in the extended entry below.

Another Day, Another Project

Again I am on another "Special" project. This project entails replacing a vital application at my company. It also entails making major changes, major personalities, and major complainers.

Today we came to a fork in the road and had to look at our choices. We wrote down the pros and cons and came to a collective descision. We were able to logically make a choice that was not initially agreed on by all. I had done exercises similar to this in training classes and thought it might be just a silly exercise. But when we were using the brainstorming/pro/con thing, I actually got excited. This stuff actually applies to real life and had real life application. WOW! And the scariest part? I got goose bumps just thinking about it.....

Poetry in Music

Which comes first? A beautiful melody or beautiful lyrics? Or do they both work together? I can't share with you the melody of the song Trampoline by Tony Carey, but I can share the lyrics.

Some people got much too much
Some people got the midas touch now
Some people are waiting for the train
Some people get blood on their hands
Some people see disneyland now
Some people are candles in the rain

Like a trampoline
Goes up goes down
Out of luck or heaven bound
But we've got something and we'll never touch the ground
On the trampoline
Just me and you
Just a little love will see us through
Hang on to me baby, I'll be here with you
On the trampoline

Some days are like a leaky boat
Some days are like all she wrote now
Some days I'm so happy I could sing
I won't tell you 'bout the things I've seen
The ups and downs and the inbetweens
I get so low but I know
My bells are gonna ring
It's a trampoline

We are on a roller coaster
We have made it through this
Baby what we need is mostly
Being sure of what we are
On the trampoline...

Tony Carey is an artist that my husband has introduced me to. I think his most known song is "Fine Fine Day." One of the advantages of hooking up with an older man. He has different music from his generation. Some of it is actually good. (tehe)

Fun with technology

Today at work we received an email from a co-worker requesting that we do not mention the USA/Ghana Soccer game. He was tivo'ing it and want to be surprised by the outcome. I think he was just asking for trouble.

So I used one of my gmail invites and created an email called USA Soccer (usa.soccer.scores) Then I sent him an email with the subject "Final Score of USA vs Ghanda" It the body of the email I just typed "Sike!"

I heard him from his office when he got the email and could not help laughing. What was even worse? I looked up who they were playing and found out the final score. Luckily I was able to keep it to myself.

Design My Blog

I am currently working on two blog projects and my creative juices are flowing again. Also, this current design will be over a month old and heaven forbid I keep one longer than a month. By the time I finish up my projects, I will be ready to work on mine. So that leads to you!

Give me an idea for my next blog design. You can be as descriptive as "purple with canned food" or as simple as just one word, like "carrots". Maybe a song or a picture you like.

Leave me a comment on your ideas!

Nobody is....

Youngest: You missed part of my thumb when you painted my nails.

Me: Well, nobody is perfect.

Youngest: You are. Sometimes.

Woooohoooo!

"Woooohoooo" is the word for today. I heard it many times from my 5 and 6 year old before, after, and during rides at Six Flags Over Texas. To keep away from the crowds and to help with the short attention span of the girls, we took a vacation day today. We got there when they opened and the lines were short or fast moving. Our first ride was the "LA VIBORA". On Six Flags website it is decribed as shooting passengers twisting through freewheeling, fast-moving bobsled thrills.

OH! MY! Youngest, the 5 year old, LOVED IT! She was behind me and I could hear her laughter and giggles. This child is wild!!! My six year old enjoyed it and both decided later it was their favorite ride.

The both enjoyed the smaller coaster like rides and even sat in front for the Mini-Runaway Minetrain. Their second favorite ride was the Mine Train. Not the mini, the REG-U-LAR!!!

The water rides were liked and we were able to ride the Log Ride three times.

The girls were able to hug Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Yosimite Sam. They also saw Robin from Batman and Robin. And Wonder Woman, but she probably had more male huggers than the others. She was very well... uh... she was Wonder Woman that had a Wonder Bra.

Porky Pig had his picture take with some grown men who were being silly. While the girls were hugging him, one of them said "Porky is the man." I replied, mostly to myself, "I think he is a pig." (I crack myself up sometimes.)

But the craziest of them all? A ride that even makes me scared? The Shock Wave with back to back double looping. Both were tall enough and both agreed to ride it. They enjoyed it except for the loops. Did you hear that? Youngest's words when it was over "I didn't like it that much." No crying. Just a calm statement. Maybe it was the shock. But she did like the other parts. Oldest was pretty much in agreement. So next time we will do more rollercoasters with out upside down loops.

Today was a good day and I will smile when I think about it. I love my girls since they let me be a kid again. They are full of adventure and willing to try the rides. And since I don't want to bore everyone with the nitty gritty details, I am listing all the rides we took in the extended entry.

One Seasoning to Flavor Them All

We found a seasoning called Montreal Steak that is wonderful. It is made by McCormick under thier Grill Mates line. But don't let the name steak lead you down a simple steak seasoning path. Oh no - this stuff is good on chicken, pork chops, brocolli, other vegetable of your choice, roast, stews, hamburgers, or mixed in with flour to coat fried meats. So if you like pepper, salt, garlic and a little paparika, then this seasoning is for you. No more mixing it yourself, just dash it on to your hearts desire. Yum!

(I am not getting any kick backs from this post, but a year lifetime supply would be nice! Hint hint McCormick people!)
