Woooohoooo!

"Woooohoooo" is the word for today. I heard it many times from my 5 and 6 year old before, after, and during rides at Six Flags Over Texas. To keep away from the crowds and to help with the short attention span of the girls, we took a vacation day today. We got there when they opened and the lines were short or fast moving. Our first ride was the "LA VIBORA". On Six Flags website it is decribed as shooting passengers twisting through freewheeling, fast-moving bobsled thrills.

OH! MY! Youngest, the 5 year old, LOVED IT! She was behind me and I could hear her laughter and giggles. This child is wild!!! My six year old enjoyed it and both decided later it was their favorite ride.

The both enjoyed the smaller coaster like rides and even sat in front for the Mini-Runaway Minetrain. Their second favorite ride was the Mine Train. Not the mini, the REG-U-LAR!!!

The water rides were liked and we were able to ride the Log Ride three times.

The girls were able to hug Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Yosimite Sam. They also saw Robin from Batman and Robin. And Wonder Woman, but she probably had more male huggers than the others. She was very well... uh... she was Wonder Woman that had a Wonder Bra.

Porky Pig had his picture take with some grown men who were being silly. While the girls were hugging him, one of them said "Porky is the man." I replied, mostly to myself, "I think he is a pig." (I crack myself up sometimes.)

But the craziest of them all? A ride that even makes me scared? The Shock Wave with back to back double looping. Both were tall enough and both agreed to ride it. They enjoyed it except for the loops. Did you hear that? Youngest's words when it was over "I didn't like it that much." No crying. Just a calm statement. Maybe it was the shock. But she did like the other parts. Oldest was pretty much in agreement. So next time we will do more rollercoasters with out upside down loops.

Today was a good day and I will smile when I think about it. I love my girls since they let me be a kid again. They are full of adventure and willing to try the rides. And since I don't want to bore everyone with the nitty gritty details, I am listing all the rides we took in the extended entry.

La Vibora - bobsled ride
The Cows - Oldest and I only - Youngest was not tall enough. But tall enough for the Shock Wave. Go figure.
Tea Cups
Roaring Rapids - This was even more fun than I remember as a kid.
Log Ride - Rode it three times. Flume 2 is much better and Flume 1.
Splash Water - Big boat that splashes into the water and pretty much soaks everyone to the bone. Then after you can stand on the bridge and get soaked when another boat comes down. Oldest and I stayed on the bridge.
YOSEMITE SAM'S GOLD RIVER ADVENTURE - Mostly for the Air Conditioning.
CHAPARRAL ANTIQUE CARS - The girls each drove a car while my husband and I controlled the gas.
Train Ride - Great place to dry off after the Splash Water ride.
Mine Train - mentioned above
Mini-Mine Train - The girls sat in the front for this one and got some comments from the people waiting for our spots. They commented on their giggles and how adventurous they were for sitting in the front.

We watched a Wild West show with great special effects, beautiful Paint horses, and audience participation. There was one part where they "shot" an old time machine gun at the audience and the seats vibrated like they were being hit. After the show was over, we got to pet all the horses and talk to the people in the show. They were very hot from performing in 90 degrees, but all of them seem to enjoy it.

Another thing - Lemon Chills taste even better when you are hot and thirsty.

I miss Six Flags Over Texas! I was so afraid of roller coasters and then went on the Texas Giant in college and loved it. I also liked the bobsled ride at that park (don't remember the name).
