Texas beats Kansas, 66 - 14

The game itself was good, but mostly uneventful. We beat them good. But this game was fun because of all the other activities. Let's start at the beggining.

Since the 11th was Veteran's Day, we honored Veterans this game. As the Nation Anthem was sung, we had a fly by of fighter jets. It was cool, but not ver loud since the did not turn on the after burners. A picture of the fly by is here.

They also had a reunion for the Texas flag wavers, so they had 4 Texas flags on the field when the team came out. Picture here.

It was also Senior Day, so they let each of the Seniors run out after being introduced. They originally wanted them to run out and stand with their parents, but they all asked to go back and run out with the team. I can understand that since it is their last home game ever. And
running out of the tunnel
is supposed to be really cool.

Even with all this stuff going on, they had time for KU's band to perform at half time. I love seeing other bands play and they had flags that the girls would have loved.

The Longhorn Band had a great performance to honor the 50th Anniversary of Big Bertha.

And the 50th Anniversary of the "Hook'em Horns". They had some cheerleaders from 50 years ago and the guy who introduced the infamous hand symbol of Texas. Full story here. I got a picture of the band in a Hook'em Horns formation with the cheerleaders. Picture here.

Not to leave the Veterans out they honored them with this and this.

This game was a prime example of one of what makes college football fun.
